TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: 10 October 2026

These terms apply to training and related services supplied by Ready State Training.

Ready State Training is operated by Jon Mills as a sole trader.

Specific quotations, proposals or booking confirmations may contain additional terms. Where agreed in writing, those terms will form part of the agreement between RST and the customer.

Booking training

A booking is confirmed when RST accepts the booking in writing or when both parties otherwise enter into an agreed contract for training.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding learner numbers, venue requirements, accessibility needs and any relevant organisational requirements.

Prices

Unless otherwise stated, prices are quoted in pounds sterling.

Ready State Training is not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not added unless this changes and the customer is notified accordingly.

Any travel, accommodation, subsistence, venue, certification or other agreed costs will be identified separately where applicable.

Payment

Payment terms will be stated on the relevant quotation or invoice.

Customers are responsible for ensuring invoices are paid within the agreed payment period.

RST reserves the right to withhold future delivery, certificates or other non-statutory services where undisputed invoices remain overdue, subject to any applicable awarding-organisation requirements.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancellation and rescheduling arrangements will normally be stated in the quotation, booking confirmation or contract.

Where no separate written terms have been agreed, RST will seek to work reasonably with the customer to reschedule training where possible.

RST may charge reasonable costs already incurred as a result of cancellation, including non-refundable travel, accommodation, venue, materials or certification costs.

Cancellation by RST

RST may need to cancel or postpone training because of illness, instructor availability, unsafe conditions, travel disruption, awarding-organisation requirements or other circumstances outside reasonable control.

Where possible, an alternative date or suitable replacement trainer will be offered.

Where RST cancels training and no suitable alternative can be agreed, amounts paid for the affected training will be refunded.

RST will not normally be responsible for indirect losses arising from unavoidable cancellation.

Learner eligibility and attendance

Customers are responsible for ensuring learners meet any published prerequisites or eligibility requirements.

Where a regulated qualification has mandatory attendance, assessment or identity requirements, learners must comply with those requirements.

Completion of a course does not guarantee successful achievement of a qualification where assessment is required.

Conduct and safety

RST aims to provide a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment.

RST reserves the right to remove or refuse participation where a learner's behaviour creates a safety risk, seriously disrupts learning, breaches professional boundaries or makes delivery unreasonable.

Scope of training

Training is delivered within the stated scope of the relevant programme.

Attendance does not give learners authority to operate beyond their role, competence or professional responsibilities.

In particular:

  • mental health training does not qualify learners to diagnose or treat mental illness

  • TRiM does not replace clinical mental health services

  • conflict-management training does not provide physical intervention or breakaway competence unless explicitly stated within a separately agreed programme

  • operational training does not confer specialist investigative, command or statutory authority

Regulated qualifications

Where RST delivers qualifications regulated or certificated through an awarding organisation, the relevant awarding organisation's requirements will apply.

Assessment decisions, certification and quality-assurance processes may be subject to those requirements.

Intellectual property

Course materials, presentations, workbooks, scenarios, graphics, written resources and other materials produced by RST remain the intellectual property of Ready State Training or the relevant rights holder unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, adapted, sold or used to deliver training without permission.

Materials supplied for learner use may be retained and used personally for their intended learning purpose.

Photography and recording

Training sessions must not be audio-recorded, video-recorded or photographed for commercial or training reproduction without prior permission from RST and, where appropriate, participants.

Liability

RST will take reasonable care in designing and delivering its services.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to applicable law, RST will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of training materials or decisions made outside the scope of the training delivered.

Force majeure

RST will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, venue failure, public-health restrictions, emergencies, industrial action or similar events.

Complaints

RST aims to resolve concerns promptly and professionally.

Complaints relating to RST delivery should be raised directly with Ready State Training.

Where a complaint relates to a regulated qualification, applicable awarding-organisation complaints or appeals procedures may also apply.

Changes to these terms

RST may update these terms from time to time.

The version applying to a booking will normally be the version in force when the booking was agreed, unless otherwise agreed.
